MARY TATIGIAN
Mary Tatigian is founder of Quiet Florida, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing harmful noise. The organization was founded in 2021 and has approximately 1,000 members. Mary has an extensive background as a Registered Nurse and recognizes the serious adverse impacts noise pollution has on mental and physical health. She is a member of Quiet Communities and is a participant in the QC Quiet American Skies program. In Florida, she is leading efforts to combat noise pollution from aircraft around Naples Airport and from modified road vehicle mufflers. She was instrumental in persuading the President of the Florida Senate to initiate a noise study by the research office of the state legislature on the impact of modified vehicle mufflers and is working closely with local officials in Collier County to tackle the problem. With members of Quiet Florida and other Naples residents, Mary convinced the Naples City Council to employ independent legal counsel to help combat aircraft noise and to make permanent changes to Naples Airport operations to minimize noise impacts on residents. Mary has been interviewed on several local TV stations and her work has been highlighted in local papers.
